Ooh La La Eyelashes

I have eyelash extenstions! I will post a picture of them very soon! I'm so excited! I feel like a Disney Princess! I met my friend on Tuesday night just to say hi and catch up. She has been getting a full set of eyelash extensions for ages and I'm always jealous of them! It makes her look so gorgeous and glamorous even when she's mucking out one of her horses' stables! Well, I met her while she was having hers' re-done and she surprised me with having made an appointment for me to get some of my own!

I didn't get a full set, I just got some on the outer corners and I couldn't be happier! It's the exact look I'm always trying to create for myself! I love that Disney Princess fluttery eyed look. They look just like my own lashes as well. Even without mascara I feel gorgeous. Once I add mascara I feel like a complete siren! I haven't worn eyeshadow with them yet I've felt so glam! It was retty quick to have them put on and it didn't hurt or irritate my eyes at all. I just need to keep oil based removers and cleansers away from them so the glue doesn't prematurely dissolve.

I'll keep you updated on how they go but I suspect I'm hooked!

I got my extensions done by Esme Winterflood. She can come to your home or you can go to see her in Hampstead, London. I can't recommend her enough and she's even fairy-like gorgeous inside and out to boot! It's like having Tinkerbell do your lashes for you!

Here is her website so you can check it out. http://esmewinterflood.co.uk/

Boots Botanics Rosewater Toner

Times are tough and I ran out of my beloved Liz Earle toner. It was a sad sad day. You know from my constant moaning that my skin is super sensitive and really doesn't like a lot of toners. However, I was desperate and I really didn't want to spend loads of money on a new purchase. Luckily I had loads of points on my Boots Advantage Card so I thought I'd take a stab at something new. I figured that if I paid for it with points I wouldn't be so upset if I didn't like it.

I decided to try something from the Boots Botanics range. I figured it was a fairly safe bet and loads of people in the blogosphere have been talking about different things from the Botanics range that they're really liking lately. The Rosewater toner was labelled as 100% organic and I really fancied something simple and gentle with a light fragrance such as roses. This purchase has made me so happy! I'll definitely be trying it again!

The first time I used it I was a bot worried as it stung a little bit. It never has again so I think it was just my skin being a bit wary of something new. I really look forward to using it now! The fragrance is really light and refreshing rather than stuffy. I'm not always a big fan of rose flavours. I also really like the packaging. It's just simple and would look nice in pretty much any bathroom. Perfect. I travel with mine a few times a week as well and it's held up really well. Never any leakage issues or the like.

I can't recommend this one enough!

Cheep and Cheerful

I am super loving Rimmel lipsticks and lip liners at the moment! I've got them in mostly nude colours but the red precision lip liner has a pointed tip on it unlike the nude colours that have a slanted tip. Clever!!! My fave fave fave Rimmel item at the moment is the  Lasting Finish Lipstick in Birthday Suit. It's so cute and is a great nude on me. It doesn't wash my pale complexion out nor does it dry my lips. It's great with some lip blam underneath for a soft finish or some cute gloss over the top. I'm also quite partial to the packaging! Anything with crowns or tiaras on it gets my seal of approval in general!

Quick Tip

One of my favourite things to do at the moment is to mix some face oils in with my moisturiser at night. It's a quick and easy way to nourish your skin and it has some anti ageing properties as well! My personal concoction is a drop or two each of rose oil, lavendar oil, neroli oil, argan oil and vitmain E oil. I drop each of these onto a cotton pad already loaded up with moisturiser, give it a squish to distribute the product and massage it into my face. The lavendar helps me to sleep as well! It feels so luxurious and makes me go to bed with a smile on my face.
I get my vitamin E oil from Superdrug and it's part of their own Vitamin E oil line. The Argan oil is one that I order from the US from Eden Allure. However, I know that Whole Foods in the UK stock an Argan oil that is suitable for use on your face. As for the essential oils, I get those at my local Holland and Barret.
Let me know if you give it a try and I'd love to know what you think!

Silky Smooth

Some months ago I bought myself a SilkEpil. I can't tell you how afraid I am of epilators after my experience with an Epilady in high school! The word "epilation" has made me shiver with fear ever since. I was dubious about the SilkEpil but after a couple of people telling me how fantastic they found it I decided to give it a try. I have been searching for a good way to de-fuzz for such a long time. Beauty salons are expensive and not always as gentle on "delicate areas" as they could be. Home waxing is messy and fairly ineffective. Razors and creams - ick ick ick.
My SilkEpil isn't the latest model. You can't take it in the shower with you or anything like that. Meanwhile - I have fallen in love with it! It does make a noise that is a little bit scary when you're approaching areas such as your underarm, etc but the little light on it is super brilliant! The handy ice pack that comes with it comes in so handy for those delicate spots you'd like fuzz free as well!
On my first try I did use one of the small attachments to do my eyebrows. It's so fast! But you need to be very accurate and I was in a rush and over do it in one spot by mistake. Luckily there wasn't any permanent damage!
Over time you definitely get better with the pain. I have to admit that I don't even feel it doing my legs at all anymore. I always use the Soft option and the attachment that massages the follicles as I've got such sensitive skin. The rollers really do encourage the hair out of the follicle making it easier for the SilkEpil to pick up! It's genius!
To clean my appliance up, I use the little brush that was included and dip it in surgical spirits. This is something I want totally bacteria free and the surgical spirits makes me feel confident about it being spotless! It's also really quick to do as the spirits evaporate quickly and you can pack your kit up and put it away before you run out the door leaving your room evidence free!
This is something I'd definitely recommend putting on your Christmas wishlist! Either that or watching out for the next sale! I picked mine up on special offer a while back at Superdrug.

October Faves Part Deux - Finally!!!!

Would you believe me if I said that not only are my videos taking an age to upload, but my internet connection has now crashed? Argh! The humanity! Luckily, I am at the boy's and his internet connection works just fine - well, semi fine. Fine enough to notice that my video had magically uploaded and fine enough to let me get this post up! I'm so excited!
Well, it's actually "more exciting" (read funny) to watch him and his friend play wii games. They just look quite silly shaking the little remote-thingies around!!!! Apparently it's some sort of cycle race. Really? Personally I prefer the super hula hoop game on the wii fit! FUN FUN FUN!!!!!
I digress - back to the task at hand. My October faves!!!!!
I can't stress this enough... magical eye cream that erases dark circles for £3.50! Get yourself to a Superdrug immediately if not sooner! It's the Natural High Brightening Eye Cream. It's AMAZING!
Then there is the BarryM Dazzledust in Mushroom. It takes a few seconds to swipe some over your eyelid and you'll be inundated with compliments all day! Again, this is a Superdrug purchase. BarryM is also at larger Boots outlets or you can go to the BarryM website.
Another Superdrug or online purchase is all things Eyeko. London's cutest make up? Indeed! The tinted cream has been my day and night moisturiser of late and  my comlpexion is looking just like when I was using Creme De La Mer! OMG! The tinted cream is only a fiver!!!!! I forget how much Creme De La Mer is. I've blocked it out of my mind as it's just too scary. The Fatty Balms are a hand bag must have. A cheek tint, lip colour and a lip balm all in one? Amazing! And they smell delicious as well! They've been such a life saver for me lately.
Cotton pads. Try to get organic ones. I just can't convey how much I am in love with cotton pads in words. Please watch the video! I look mildly crazed and wild eyed when I get started on them but it's only because I feel so strongly about it!!!!
Did anyone else know that Zoya nail varnishes were available in the UK/ I was so excited when this amazing tidbit came to me on Twitter!!! go to www.nailcareclub.com. Not only do they stock Zoya, but they kindly sent me three mini sizes to try out! I'm wearing the candy floss pink as we speak and feel like it's the perfect way to cheer me up on London's dreariest day of the year.
I'm sure you're bored of me ranting on now. Here is the link to the video and I hope you enjoy it.

October Faves - Part 1

Arrrrgggghhhhh!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it's been almost a week since I've been here! It's been driving me absolutely crackers! I'm such a stubborn girl and had my heart set on my next blog being my October faves. Well, who looks silly now? Me! All because it's taken the better part of a week to get the first video uploaded!

Yes, you read it right, part 1. I had so many things I wanted to talk about this month and it kept going over ten minutes and if I didn't get through all of it I think I might have burst like an overfilled balloon and then gone swishing around the room like an out of control missile making all kinds of questionable noises!

So here is part one for you. I'm afraid I talk a lot! I didn't realise it till just now when I was putting up my notes for the video! But I could talk about this products forever and I've been forcing them upon all my friends as I love them so much!

First of all I talk for a year about E.L.F. I am in LOVE with these products! I've done a post all about their foundation kit - which has changed my skin. For the faves I've also talked about their mineral eyeshadows, the Studio Line brushes (A-mazing) as well as the Plump and Prime lip treatment stick. You can find these products at http://www.eyeslipsface.co.uk/. Don't get your eyes checked when you go onto the site. They really are that much of a bargain! And the products really are comparable to higher end brands as well! Ooh la la! My top two faves are the Powder Brush for putting on my mineral foundation and the mineral eyeshadow in Natural. It's a fantastic dupe for Stila's kitten without the fallout issues and glides on like a dream. Yes, it's £2.50 for a pot!!!!!!!

Then I rant for the rest of the video about my beloved Eyeko. It really is London's cutest make up!!! The fatty balms and the tinted cream are the standout items for me. I've been using the tinted cream as my daily moisturiser and my skin is loving it! Go to http://www.eyeko.com/ to make your purchases or pop into a superdrug. I made my order online and the service was terrific. I even got some cute face wipes to try out as well! They'll be perfect for a weekend away!

Bath of the Day # 3

It’s been a fairly unglamorous day. Lots of work with tools, rakes, saws, garden incinerators and the like. Meanwhile, my front garden is looking considerably better than it did before my day of hard, physical labour!
To take the edge off such a big day, a girl needs a soak in a lovely tub. Seeing as it’s been getting dark earlier and earlier these days I decided to go with the Christmas Eve bubble bar. Christmas_Eve
It seemed so appropriate when I looked at it all glittery with it’s crescent moon topping. Usually I only need around a quarter of a bubble bar to have a lovely tub but today I treated myself to the whole lot! Decadence! It was seriously soothing and just what I needed after such a tough week!
This is my favourite bath item from the Christmas collection Lush has on offer so far.
My all time favourite Lush Christmas item so far is the SnowShowers shower jelly. I’ve never tried a shower jelly before! A lot of people have called them gimmicky and had a hard time figuring out how to love them. The fragrance alone sold me on this. I’m a sucker for anything elderflower flavoured so this drew me in right away. It is kind of fun to use but tricky at the same time. I like it for my morning shower as it helps to wake me up. Seeing as it’s pretty slippery and white, when I keep dropping it in the shower it does make it tricky to find, therefore, making my morning shower a little longer than planned! If only they could bottle that fragrance and put it into a regular shower gel for all year round!

Proper Grown Up Luxe

I have been loving the Korres Vanilla and Cinnamon shower gel the last few nights. It feels like proper grown up luxury. I feel so incredibly decadent when I use it. The flavour is truly relaxing and perfect for before bedtime. It’s a creamy texture on your skin that leaves you feeling soft and clean. I will say that it’s a little thin so can escape out of the bottle unexpectedly but I do love the glamorous feeling I get when I go to bed after a bath or shower having used it.

I’m also loving the Korres Guava Body Butter. Applied straight after a bath or shower it absorbs quickly into your skin leaving even the driest scales feeling smooth and soft. The fragrance is wonderful and great for either morning or evening. I love this product!I have such dry skin and this really does the trick! I don’t adore using it on dry skin but when my skin is still warm from a shower or bath it’s truly sublime.

I definitely recommend lining up some of these chic bottles in your bathroom!
